Condensation

What exactly is condensation and why should I be worried about it in my home?

Condensation by definition is water that collects as droplets on a cold surface when warm humid air is in contact with it. As we move into much colder weather in many of the Northern parts of the country, and begin regular use of inside heating systems, condensation can become a real issue for homeowners.

What can condensation to do my home or business?

If condensation is left undetected, it can result in mold and mildew growth and potential unsafe health conditions within the home. Condensation is most likely found on window surfaces, however, can also be found in attic spaces, ceilings, walls, and any other place where warm moist air of the home meets a cold surface.

As temperatures continue to fall, it is important to investigate and inspect all areas of your home so that any potential areas of condensation developing are properly addressed and repaired before health issues or need for costly repairs arise.
